Remedial and sports massage in Highgate

I'm Luke Wheeler. I run remedial and sports massage from a private, appointment-only space in Highgate, a few minutes north of the Perth CBD. Dry needling, deep tissue and relaxation massage available here too. Everything books online, and the exact address comes with your booking confirmation.

The people who book here are fitting massage around real life. Runners and athletes in training. Workers whose shoulders quietly seized sometime last winter. New parents running on broken sleep. Anyone who's decided the niggle in their calf isn't going to sort itself out.

Whoever lands on the table, the session starts the same way: working out what your body is telling me before I do anything about it.

Finding the space

Highgate sits right against the city, next to Mount Lawley, Northbridge and East Perth. Many clients are a few minutes away - Inglewood, Maylands, Leederville, the CBD itself. Some walk or ride over. Because it's a private, appointment-only space, the exact address and access details come with your booking confirmation. If you'd rather know before you book, SMS me and I'll run you through it. There is usually plenty of free street parking and there is easy access to public transport. Convenient and central.

What I treat here

Remedial massage is most of the work. The neck that won't switch off. The calf niggle that keeps coming back. Shoulders that have been grumbling since autumn. It's assessment-led, so we work out what's driving the problem instead of guessing at it.

Sports massage is for people in training. It helps you feel less sore and keeps you on the plan.

Dry needling is on the menu here too, for the stubborn spots hands alone can't shift. Needle-shy? Say so when you book. I'll show you the needle, explain what happens, and we only go ahead if you're comfortable.

Deep tissue and relaxation round it out. Deep tissue is firm, specific work through the spots that hold tension - office workers usually know exactly which ones I mean. Relaxation massage is for the weeks when sleep's gone and patience has gone with it. No assessment, no plan. Just quiet.

Your first visit

We’ll talk through what's bothering you and what your weeks look like, then I assess how you move before any hands-on work. From there the session mostly writes itself, and by the end you'll usually have a plan for what happens next, if anything's needed. You don't need to know which service to pick before you book. Most people start with remedial and we can adjust from there.

Health insurance rebates

Health fund rebates depend on your fund and your level of cover. Ask before your appointment and I'll tell you what to check with them. Cancellations inside four hours may incur up to 50% of the booking amount.

And one timing note: in race season the evening and early morning spots go first. If there's an event on your calendar, lock the recovery sessions in when you lock in the training.

No. Everything runs through the booking portal. If you have any queries, feel free to email me: luke@thequietmiles.au
