Massage in Mt Lawley
I'm Luke Wheeler. This Mt Lawley room runs remedial, sports, deep tissue and relaxation massage, plus dry needling — walk-ins welcome when the table's free, though booking ahead is the sure way to get your preferred time. Everything's bookable online, and the exact address comes with your confirmation.
Most people who come through this room live or work nearby. Inglewood, Bedford, Coolbinia, Yokine, the cafe end of Beaufort Street on a Saturday morning. You're not crossing the city for an appointment. You're walking there.
The Mt Lawley room
Walk-in-friendly means this room sees more foot traffic than Highgate. It's still one practitioner, one table, one person at a time. No conveyor belt, no being parked in a waiting room while someone else runs late. If the table's busy when you arrive, the booking portal shows the next gap and you're not stuck guessing.
What I treat here
Remedial massage is the backbone of the week in this room. The shoulder that's been building since winter. The hip that flares every time training ramps up. It starts with assessment, so we work on the cause rather than chasing the sore spot around your body.
Sports massage is for people mid-training. It helps you feel less sore and keeps the plan on track — that's the claim the evidence supports, so it's the only one I'll make. Anything about getting faster or staying injury-free is marketing, and I don't do marketing.
Dry needling rounds out the toolkit. Some stubborn spots respond better to it than to hands alone, and some people just prefer it. If needles aren't your thing, that's a perfectly good reason to skip it — the massage stands on its own.
Deep tissue and relaxation cover the rest. Deep tissue is for the tension that's moved in and signed a lease; desk workers usually know the postcode. Relaxation is for the weeks when sleep has gone missing and you can feel it everywhere you look. One is specific work. The other is quiet. Both count.
Your first visit
First visit? We talk before anything happens. What's bothering you, what your training week or work week actually looks like, a quick movement check. Then the table. You'll leave with a plan if one's needed, and if nothing needs doing beyond the session itself, I'll tell you that too.
You don't have to pick the right service before you arrive. Start with remedial if you're unsure. We adjust from there.
Health insurance rebates
Health fund rebates depend on your fund and your level of cover. Check your cover before the appointment and you'll know exactly where you stand. Cancellations inside four hours may incur up to 50% of the booking amount.
And one timing note: in race season the evening and early morning spots go first. If there's an event on your calendar, lock the recovery sessions in when you lock in the training.
