The Quiet Miles logo — remedial massage therapy by Luke, Perth

Most people don't think about their body until something's already gone wrong. A tight calf becomes a strain. A stiff neck becomes a headache that won't shift. Remedial and sports massage at The Quiet Miles works the other way round: regular, skilled body treatment before things get loud, not after.

This is the core session at The Quiet Miles, in Highgate and Mt Lawley. Sports massage supports training and competition, remedial massage addresses specific pain and postural issues, and most sessions blend both depending on what you need that day.

Remedial & Sports Massage

What happens in a session

Every session starts with a conversation. I want to know up front where you are at right now, what's tight, what's been nagging, what you're training for or recovering from. We plan the treatment together and get to work on the areas that need it. It’s not always the obvious solution. Technique, pressure, stretching and mobilisation are all up for adjustment, to meet the needs and balance for any correctional work, and achieve the best result.

There's no fixed routine run on everyone who comes to the treatment table. Dry Needling is an optional add on that can be included in the session too. It’s a matter of working out where it fits into the treatment plan and importantly your understanding of the directional benefits. It can be a way to support trigger point release or to reach muscles that massage can’t. Dry Needling is also available as its own standalone appointment.

Relaxation massage too

Not every session needs to be about training or injury. Relaxation massage is also available for anyone whose nervous system needs a break, not a treat you feel guilty about, a moment where your body gets to switch off. Ask me to build this into a booking if that's what today calls for.

Who benefits most

  • Athletes and active people managing training loads

  • Anyone with chronic tension, referred pain, or postural issues from desk work

  • People carrying a niggle that hasn't resolved on its own

  • Sports teams and individuals preparing for, or recovering from, an event

Event recovery

I provide recovery support around your sport, running, cycling and multisport events, both in the lead-up and in the days after. If you're racing, a session three to four days out helps your body arrive fresh rather than fatigued. In the 24 to 72 hours after an event, targeted work can help clear the muscular build-up from a long effort and shorten how long you feel wrecked and reduce the dreaded DOMS. If your club or event is looking for on-the-day recovery support, get in touch directly to talk through what that could look like.

What results can you expect?

Results are built through knowledge, experience and attentive sessions. When I understand more about the treatment, what is it necessary, how it works, what to expect, we can then map out a results pathway. I want to understand what you're dealing with and how long it's been building. Many clients notice a difference in tension and range of movement immediately, though chronic issues usually take a few visits to properly settle. I show up with honesty, let you know what I’m finding and what to expect, rather than promising a fix on the first visit.

Sessions run at Highgate and Reset HQ, Mt Lawley. Book online and choose the location and time that suits.
